The Rules 07/08.

1.     Matches Start at 8:30pm.

     2.     Teams Must have a minimum of “Five” players. A team of four constitutes a three game penalty (if the match is won 5-4 with the team of four players winning, the individual results stand including the re-draw, but the final score is 2-7) If one team has less than four players it constitutes a 9-0 walkover.

     3.     The evening runs the same as last year, with five singles, three doubles and a gallon played. If time does not allow for the Gallon BOTH teams forfeit. To avoid this, it can be agreed to play the doubles as three legs 301.

     4.     All players in the singles draw MUST play in the gallon, if not, the game is forfeit.

     5.     Score sheets have been produced and it is the responsibility of the HOME captain to record the score and hand it in to Merryn. Please keep them legible and include surnames as it will help in the compiling of statistics. It is recommended that both Captains keep a book, to clear up any disputes!!!!!

     6.     The season is decided with a simple league system, with any ties being decided by games won. In the (unlikely) event of a further tie, there will be a simple playoff.

     7.     The individual competition is worked out as percentage won, but to qualify, a player must play at least 9 singles. Again in the event of a tie, the player having played MORE matches for their percentage will win, then it goes to “legs won” and if that does not decide a winner there will be a play off. The doubles and Gallon competition are worked out on the same basis, but in the case of the gallon, any team with forfeits will defer.

     8.     The penalty points are mandatory. This is to avoid embarrassment when “claiming games”.
